It's Christmas at Casa De Barrett!

Hard to believe another year is coming to an end so soon. Time seems to be flying by. Thanks to everyone for a great year. Here's to an even better 2011!

We teamed up again with Smalldog Imageworks (www.smalldoggin.com) to do this new image for the portfolios. That is actually my son Jordan jumping his little Huffy Rocket bike with the big training wheels. We also recruited some of the neighborhood folks to be his audience.

Shot some new stuff with some little skater grommits at the skate park recently.

Breakin' B-Boy

Shot some cool stuff off 6th Street with this rad breakin' b-boy. Funny back story, this is actually Jeff my intern. I caught him doing a little breakdancing about a week ago while setting up some book shots and we decided that we should find a more appropriate location and get it on film!

We got so much great stuff during the RenFest weekend. I will post more work from time to time as we get free time in between jobs. Here's one I did today.

Yee Old Guys from the Days of Yor.

Spent a couple days shooting at the South Florida Renaissance Festival last weekend. If you've never experienced one before, I highly recommend going. These people are a trip. They are all "Good day to you, my lord & Me lady...." It is great how the stay and live in character throughout the festival. Tons of fun! Here is the first series of images from our our first day's shoot.

Park City Here We Come!

Heading off tomorrow to our place in Park City Utah. Going out for the next 12 days to do some shooting and also get in some much needed turns on the mountain. I am planning to be shooting more of my personal work in the same vein of the shot shown here.

Also going to be doing some book stuff on stills and new motion stuff for the reel.... Will be testing out our new Canon 1D Mark IV camera and this nifty little GoPro Hero for some great POV perspectives! Can't wait! Think Snow! :-)

Listening to bit of Led Zepplin IV as I was working on this image. Don't know why but "When the Levee Breaks" seems sort of struck a chord with me. (no pun intended) ;-)

Things that make you go "hmmmm..."

Kinda looks like this just erupted out of the ground like some kind of stonehenge'ish thing. Actually this is a prop from a shoot we did for Turkel a while back. Shot this wider version without models and shifted the color as a personal version for my personal work .

What are you looking at?

Personal image shot a while back on a day that I had to get out and shoot something.... anything... something to 'stir my soup' so to speak. I saw this and it intrigued me how it seemed like it was looking at me.

Quiet Places...

Here's another new personal image I made last month on a trip out to Park City. Shot this over the Great Salt Lake on our initial approach into SLC. Every time I fly into Salt Lake I'm always amazed at how different the lake can look depending on the light and atmospheric conditions. On this day it had this strange ethereal quality to it and the reflection of the mountains in the still water was somewhat surreal.
